Hotel Review: The Hoxton Holborn

Location: Very centrally on High Holborn, within coughing distance of London’s bustling West End, King’s Cross, Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus, The British Museum, Covent Garden you name it! This is really as close to the beating heart of the city as any visitor to London would want.

Rooms: 174 spread over 5 floors and divided into four decidedly one-of-a-kind room categories: shoebox, snug, cosy and roomy.

Style: Decidedly young, seriously hip, and boldy industrial-functional; geared towards the price-conscious urban traveller.

Other amenities: Three food and dining options which for a hotel of this size is quite the achievement. The main restaurant is the Hubbard & Bell, a New-York style grill that specialises in steaks and is also the hotel’s main breakfast venue, the Chicken Shop in the basement which as the name suggests specialises in spit-roast meat of the poultry variety, and the Holborn Grind espresso bar (think ridiculously good coffee, cake, pastries and sandwiches). There’s also free wi-fi, 6 meeting spaces

The lowdown: The Hoxton Holborn, room rates range from £69 to £269 depending on day of the week (Sunday is always cheapest) and size of room. The price includes breakfast and Wi-Fi.
